| I probably inherited my interest in music form my grandfather, my mother´s father. All my
family is rather musical, with the exception of my sister, who - although she passed all the children´s art school classes - doesn´t play much now. I preferred the piano from my childhood. The teachers didn´t want to let me study the
children´s art school at first. They said I couldn´t sing. But my mother persuaded them to accept me. I don´t want to show off but at the end of the first year I belonged to the best students. My teacher, Mr. František Jirka, was great.
Through my mother wasn´t content with the way he teached, I myself was pleased and enjoyed playing. But then this teacher left the school and there wasn´t anybody convenient for me. This was the reason I finished after four years of
learning. From that moment I played just for myself. After The Velvet Revolution my family and me went to then West Berlin. There I saw a keyboard in a department store and become lost. I succeeded in persuading my parents that I needed it very
badly, that there was nothing more important in the world. It was YAMAHA SHS200, which could be hung on a belt and had a terrible FM sound, but I was very happy. It was the beginning. My friends and me started a band, the BFU
(Boys From Úpice, Úpice is a town we were from). Its cast looked like this: 3 keyboards, a guitar and later a girl-singer. We even played at about four dances. But gradually band members dropped away and at the end I stayed nearly alone. As
a gift for passing my A levels I got YAMAHA PSS590. It was much better instrument with AWM tone generator and sequencer. Then I started the military service and it was the end of my playing with the band. But I didn´t left music - one of my
comrade-in-arms and me made a musical studio and played for themselves. At the army I advantageously sold my existing outfit and bought ATARI ST and YAMAHA PSR 500. At the beginning I was thrilled but gradually I found that it is a terrible stuff,
especially MIDI implementation, also the sound wasn´t very good. And the life went on. I managed to travel out on a business tour to Berlin where I nearly starved because I wanted to save as much as possible from my travelling
expense. For the savings I bought my first quality instrument ROLAND JV35. Just after I bought it, I was asked by a newly originating dance band to join it and I agreed. It was the TAURUS band and I stayed with it about three years. Business tour (and
travelling expense) came again and I bought YAMAHA W7. I use this combination to the present. After personal disagreements in Taurus I left the band (together with me also the bass, the percussion and one guitar) and we started our
own band KAMNAFUTRA. But this project quietly lapsed after half a year. After a little pause I was asked by a band to play the keyboard, I joined it and I still go on. We have no name yet, the provisional name is BIOGRAV SVATONOVIC (Svatonovice cinema)
because our musical studio is in an unused cinema in Velké Svatonovice village. But I continuously maintain the BFU project (now the name has a different meaning but I don´t know exactly which) in composition of me, the
keyboard and the computer (ST was replaced by PC). An output is already a demo MC but we live in the digital age, so just demo CD. You will find it in MP3. So much for music.
